Teaser bets

An American parlay that buys points off the spread. Easier legs, worse price. Not sports spread betting.

A teaser is an American parlay that buys points. You take two or more NFL or NBA spreads and move each line in your favour — six points is the usual NFL buy — and you accept a worse combined price for the privilege. Every leg still has to cover. The points only make each leg easier. The coupon still wants all of them. It has just put a friendlier hat on each number.

Worked shape, not a shop’s exact card. Two NFL sides at −3 and −7. A six-point teaser turns them into +3 and −1. Both must still cover those new numbers. The payout is not the same as a two-team parlay at the raw prices. That is the teaser sheet. Britain already knows the raw version. It is an accumulator. America calls it a parlay, then sells you the teaser on top, because the Saturday coupon there is a spread, and the spread is a number they are willing to move if you pay for the move.

A teaser is not sports spread betting. You are not buying total goals at £10 a tenth with StarSpreads or Spreadex. You are moving a handicap on a coupon and tying two or more of those moved lines together. One is a British number you buy or sell. The other is an American parlay with the lines shifted. This desk will keep the hats on their own pegs.

Does a teaser still need every leg to win?
Yes. You only bought a better line on each leg. You did not buy the right to lose one.
