American football bets for beginners

· Updated

Spread, money line, total. A teaser buys points. A parlay is an accumulator in another hat.

The American coupon is a spread, a money line and a total. The spread is the number of points one side gives the other. The money line is match winner at odds, the thing Britain already knows. The total is over or under a points line. Three hats, one Sunday. The money line is our 1X2 without the draw. The spread is the number they actually argue about. The total is the same argument about how many points the afternoon contained.

Teaser is not a spread

A teaser is a parlay where you buy points — you move two or more spreads in your favour and take a worse price. Two-team 6-point NFL teaser is the starter. Add a third team and the price changes again. That is the teaser sheet, not the Lucky 15 sheet, and it is not sports spread betting. You are not buying a total at £10 a tenth with a British spread firm. You are shifting handicaps on a coupon and tying the shifted lines together. Every leg still has to cover. The points only made each hat friendlier.

A parlay of three money lines is an accumulator. Call it either. Britain already had the bet. America put a different word on the hat and then sold you the teaser as a second hat on top of that. The acca / parlay sheet takes American odds if that is what the shop printed. Convert first if you arrived in plus money and the sheet is waiting in decimal. This desk will not pretend −3 and a teaser +3 are the same number because they share a three.

What is an NFL teaser?
A parlay where you move two or more point spreads in your favour and take a worse combined price. The teaser calculator prices the buy.
