Parent DraftKings Inc.
US publicly listed company. No controlling family owner. Institutional shareholder base typical of a large-cap consumer-internet stock.
Started as a daily fantasy sports app in 2012 and became one of two DFS incumbents with FanDuel. After PASPA fell in 2018 it built a multi-state sportsbook and iGaming business and went public via SPAC in 2020. Has paid material state-level fines and fought private litigation; licensing footprint remains among the widest in the US.

Sanctions / record
2025-07-30 Massachusetts Gaming Commission — $450,000. Largest Massachusetts sports-betting fine to that date. The Commission found DraftKings allowed credit-card funds to be used for wagering, which state law prohibits.
2024-07-08 New Jersey DGE — $100,000. New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement fined DraftKings $100,000 for reporting inaccurate sports-betting data (over-reported parlays; other categories under-reported).
2025-12-09 New Jersey DGE — $32,500. Further New Jersey fine for taking illegal wagers among other violations.
Public file ≠ dirtier company. DraftKings is a NASDAQ reporter. State commissions publish its fines. A Curaçao brand with a blank record here has not been found clean — often nobody published the file. The Trust Index scores how verifiable the company is. Fines sit on this public record. They do not secretly cut the score under an old ‘regulatory-record pillar’. That pillar is gone.
