Sanctions / record
2026-06-30 UKGC — Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited £900,000. Betfred’s Gibraltar vehicle Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited £900k, 30 Jun 2026. Same legal line as earlier Petfre actions (£240k 1 Oct 2025; £2.9m 28 Sep 2022) and Done Brothers retail (£825k 3 Dec 2025; £3.25m 18 Jul 2023).
2023-07-18 UKGC — Done Brothers (Cash Betting) Limited £3.25 million. Betfred retail company. 18 Jul 2023.
2021-04-07 High Court — Andrew Green £1.72 million jackpot. Betfred refused a January 2018 Frankie Dettori’s Magic Seven Blackjack jackpot, citing a software defect. High Court (7 Apr 2021) ordered payment of £1,722,923.54 plus interest. BBC / Guardian. Software malfunction + withheld winnings, then a court-forced payout.
2021-04-07 Software defect used to withhold a jackpot — court rejected it. Same Green case: the operator’s defence was a game defect. The court held the displayed T&Cs did not cover withholding the win. A lab certificate on the studio does not decide a customer dispute — the terms and the screen do.
